Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands is a city park where we come together to grow food, foster community, and work to restore the wetlands through powerful partnerships such as Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm and the East African Senior Center. The farm is an 8-acre site dedicated to organic food production and distribution, environmental education, and wetland restoration. The land is owned by Seattle Parks and Recreation, and co-operated by Tilth Alliance and the Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands. Bring your family and explore the farm, harvest from the designated free community U-pick or stop by our whole-diet farm stand! You can also sign-up online for gardening and cooking classes, community kitchen dinner events and programs for youth and families, including camps, after-school programs, school field trips and more.
Rainier Beach Urban Farm grows produce using organic practices. The soil is fed with organic fertilizers such as chicken feathermeal or fish fertilizer. There are no pesticides or herbicides in use, we use organic pest deterrents such as insect netting, neem oil, mint treatments, and cayenne pepper.
