James immigrated from Kenya 15 years ago, where he was a farmer. He first moved to Atlanta, and then to Tacoma. In previous seasons, James was farming on a hilltop in Tacoma, but this is his first season on a plot of land in Puyallup!

Uchumi Farm only uses water and soil, and James makes his own compost.
