About Us
The New Roots program was started in 2015 by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support an existing community garden run by Bhutanese refugees in 2010 in Tukwila, WA. Seattle's New Roots Program is a food access and community wellness program that serves refugee and immigrant communities in South King County. It provides community gardening, nutrition classes, food system orientations, and youth food justice internships to families and individuals adjusting to their new home.
Practices
Farmers in the New Roots program only use sustainable practices with no synthetic inputs.
